wedding at St Giles House
This was probably my sixth wedding at the incredible St Giles House, and by now it honestly feels a bit like home. Victoria and Chris’s wedding was special in the way two families came together, one travelling from the US, the other from the UK. It was full of great speeches, a spontaneous kickabout, and that easy, relaxed energy that makes a day flow naturally.
I also gave myself some room to try new things. A longer edit, just over 15 minutes, and a 4:3 format that works beautifully with Super 8 (that was actually Victoria’s original idea, to shoot everything on Super 8).
In the end, I blended it with a lot of digital footage (so I wasn’t limited by amount of film) from a new camera, finished with a fresh, cinematic colour grade. I’m genuinely happy with how it all came together.
